Prizegiving Albert II foundation 2015

On 2 October, the Salle des Princes of the Grimaldi Forum hosted the 8th edition of the Albert II Foundation awards.

This foundation aims to support and reward initiatives to combat climate change and desertification, preserve biodiversity and access to water.

SAS Albert II awarded the Water Prize to Mr Loic Fauchon for his involvement with the World Water Council, the Mediterranean Water Institute and the Trans Sahara Caravanes Sans Frontieres.

The Climate Change Award rewarded Bill McKibben, the founder of 350.org, a global movement dedicated to climate change.

Finally, the Biodiversity Prize was awarded to Mr Emmanuel de Merode for his involvement with the natural parks of the Congo.

Monika Bacardi, very sensitive to environmental issues had naturally responded to this evening.
